Cariboo Memorial Hospital Auxiliary

President/ Judy Newbery

The Auxiliary has been in the community for 98 years and was serving the War Memorial Hospital prior to the building of the Cariboo Memorial Hospital.  We have raised over $500,000 in that time.  In the early years, the Auxiliary volunteers made sheets, pillowcases, patient gowns, towels, face cloths and did mending as well.  We have pictures frames on the wall across from our Gift Shop that outlines all the purchases that have been, on a yearly basis, since the inception of the Auxiliary.  This way the public can see what contributions the Auxiliary has made to their hospital and patient care and comfort.

Our fund raising is primarily from our Gift Shop, located in the Cariboo Memorial Hospital, Williams Lake.  Prior to COVID we also had a comfort cart that was taken to the wards.  Also prior to COVID we had bake sales, silent auctions (items are displayed in the Gift Shop), and every other year we have held a raffle (if all tickets are sold, we make $3,000).
