Our purpose is to raise funds for healthcare and community projects in the Smithers area. We have about 60 members. Our 100th anniversary was last year. Due to COVID we did not celebrate, however, we do hope to do something special once we are allowed.

Our thrift store is busier than ever since we’ve been allowed to open again. We are open six days a week from 10-3. We have a parking lot sale for three days once a year and everything is a dollar. Each week the sale items and pictures of our special items in the New to You Store are shared on Facebook. The New to You Store keeps the Clothes Cupboard in the emergency room at the hospital well stocked with clothes for patients to wear home. The emergency nurse asked us to provide this service.

We give a baby basket full of baby items to single moms in our community. This has been well received. We provide the basket, and a community organization gives the baskets out. We hope the province opens soon so we can volunteer with a lot more ease and normality.
