Squamish Wellness Fair

The Wellness Fair is held annually in Squamish as an educational and interactive event designed to share information with our community about health services and other health and wellness resources. Flu immunizations, at no charge, are available for those who meet eligibility requirements. Our Auxiliary uses this fair to help inform the public of our mission to raise funds and provide equipment and aids for the Squamish General Hospital, which we have done for over 65 years. Through photos, we showcase our Gift Shop, our jams, and past equipment purchased, as well as the equipment we are raising funds for this year. We also use this venue to inform and invite people to join our Auxiliary team.

Sunshine Coast Healthcare Auxiliary

On Wednesday, October 24, Diane Thornton, the new Vice President of BCAHA, visited us on the Sunshine Coast. She was given a tour of our Loan Cupboard, Gift Shop and Thrift Store. She even did a little shopping in the Gift Shop. We were grateful that Diane took time out of her busy schedule to pay us a visit, share some of her vision for the future of BCAHA, and listen to our summary of the year’s accomplishments. Diane is in charge of organizing the BCAHA spring conference in Prince George which will focus on embracing change, and we hope to send as many members as possible to enjoy this experience. Pictured are (l-r): Karen Noon, Chair of the Thrift Store, Donna Kyewich, Chair of the Gift Shop, Diane Thornton, and Wendy Hunt, Chair of the Loan Cupboard.

We are delighted that they chose our Auxiliary as part of this “giving back” program. Seen here, presenting a cheque for $1,500 to our Treasurer, Susan Klassen, are Chances staff members Jody and Sarah. Thank you to the folks at Chances! We are so grateful for your support.
